The Spartans were in action on Saturday July 6th against one of their Northern Rivals, the North Bay Bulldogs, on the road. The Spartans came out with 70 unanswered points to win them the game 70-0. With this win the Spartans have swept both of their series against Bulldogs and the Sault. Ste Marie Steelers making them Kings of the North.

The scoring started off 5 minutes into the 1st quarter and did not seem to stop. After an interception by Joshua Girolametto, the Spartans had the ball, and with a couple quick catch and runs from Adam Rocha to Nicholas Rideout the Spartans were up 7-0. The Spartans would shortly get the ball back after their defence forced the Bulldogs out. On the next drive, thanks to some running from Matt Glass, Rocha connected with Derrick Rantala for another touchdown. Now the Spartans were up 14-0 with 6:03 left in the 1st. On the ensuing kickoff the Spartans recovered the ball after a Bulldogs fumble, and on the next play Matt Glass scored a touchdown making it 21-0. That rounded out the 1st quarter.

Sudbury started off the 2nd quarter with a short passing play to Tyler Bell who caught the ball in the endzone. Massimo Cimino put the extra point through the uprights to make it 28-0 for the Spartans. After a short punt by the Bulldogs the Spartans got the ball and Matt Glass went to work again with a 50-yard run for a touchdown. The score was now 35-0. On the following play Zach Peckman intercepted a North Bay passing attempt. The next 2 Spartan drives got held up short and were forced to go for field goals. Both were good leaving the score at 42-0. After 1 more touchdown through a pick 6 by Andrew St. Amour the half ended 49-0 for Sudbury.

In the 3rd, due to the clock running, the game flew by much quicker, which lead to the Spartans only scoring 1 touchdown in the 3rd by Bell, putting the score at 56-0.

In the 4th Matt Glass scored again, along with Cuomo, to end the game at 70-0 for the Spartans over the Bulldogs.

The Spartans are on the Road next week where they will face off against the #1 team in the league the GTA All Stars, they will have their work cut out for them! The Spartans return to the James Jerome Field on July 20th for their last regular season game against the Ottawa Sooners.
